GAME goes into liquidation

GAME goes into liquidation leaving customers fuming

Yet another Company has gone into receivership, with another 500 employees wondering if they will have a job for much longer with one of the Country’s biggest video game retailers, GAME, entering voluntary administration yesterday.

However, customers will be paying the price with the release of Diablo three on the market this morning, those that have pre ordered have been informed that they will not be receiving refunds due to their current financial problems.

However, the way the message was delivered added insult to injury as they received the bad news via text message!

“Due to the appointment of an administrator to our business this morning, it is with regret that I inform you all that our stores will not be receiving any stock of diablo 3. Because of this, we regrettably will be unable to fulfill any pre-orders. Also, we will be unable to refund any deposits paid towards a pre-order of diablo 3.”

Legally there is nothing customers can do as under the laws of administration, they are not required to provide refunds, instead anyone wanting their money back will be added to the Company’s creditor list.
At this stage, the auditing firm in control of the administration have stated that they will continue to operate the 92 stores Australia wide as they weigh up the best solution for the future.
